Experience
I previously attended Hendrix College and recently earned my doctorate at the University of Arkansas in Comparative Literature. While there, I developed many teaching skills through my experience teaching Literature and Writing to my peers and younger college students. My main goal as a tutor is to help students develop the skills they will need to do well in Literature and Writing classes. I have expertise and experience in helping with each and every stage of the Writing process. I have assisted students in coming up with ideas for their composition pieces, as well as editing their final products. I can also help with literary comprehension and analysis and even help those students who are preparing for standardized tests or college admission essays. My strategy when teaching is to collaborate with each student individually so they can have some input into my teaching style and I can always be conscious of what things are working best for them. When I am not in the classroom, I like to spend my time reading, writing, knitting, painting, cooking, and playing the piano.
