I am fluent in English, my native language, and in German, and also am familiar with other languages, including French, Spanish, Latin, Koine Greek, and Anglo-Saxon. My passion, of course, is for languages, and linguistics. This involves more than just the mechanics of learning a specific language, but also studying linguistics, literature, history, philosophy, culture, and the arts from each culture. By studying various languages, I have found a broader appreciation for the humanities, because each language involves its own unique way of thinking. So I'm enthused about languages and learning, and one of my strengths as a tutor is the ability to draw out a sense of excitement about learning in my students. It is much easier to learn something when you're motivated to learn it because it's fun, interesting, and relevant to your life. So I make sure my students have this motivation. Then, I use methods that are tailored to meet the student's individual needs, and the end result is successful learning, and a great confidence and joy on the student's part when it comes to learning. I can tutor a wide and diverse group of subjects, and help students prepare for standardized exams like the ACT, and others.
